Cider and Cookies on December 3rd

We invite you to visit us in the library between 9:00 am and 3:00pm during Holidays in Essex on December 3rd. We will be serving cider and cookies all day for those who visit.

This will be your last day to place a bid on our auction items. The auction will close at 3:00 pm that day.

Hope to see you at the library!

POSTPONED DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER

Drop in on to make a holiday craft that can be
used as a decoration, given as a present, or kept for yourself.
This activity is suitable for adults and children over 12. We will have lots of holiday books to keep younger children busy while you’re crafting, and treats for everyone.

TREE SCAVENGER HUNT -begins September 21, ends October 20 -PRIZES!

The library is partnering with the Town’s Arbor Committee to offer another fun, self-guided program.
Between Wednesday, September 21 and Friday, October 20, we challenge you to find special trees in Essex. This fun family program will get you outside hiking and observing the beautiful trees all around you. Can you find the local tree with the biggest circumference? Can you find a tree that looks like it has a face? These are two of the categories you will be looking for.

A scavenger hunt card for the program will be available at the library, and on our Website beginning September 21.
Scavenger hunt cards may be picked up at the library, or downloaded by clicking here.
Turn in your entry by Friday, October 20 and then join us on Saturday, October 21 for a tree planting and prize award ceremony.

We wish to thank the Champlain Peony Farm for generously providing prizes for this activity and the Town’s Arbor Committee for partnering with us on this activity. |

Each kit is designed around a theme such as Letters, Numbers, Vehicles, Colors, etc. Each kit has 4 or 5 books, a sheet of fingerplay activities, an educational toy, and a flannelboard or magnetic board story.

Library of Things -Available to Borrow

You might not expect to walk into your local library to find that they have a camera you can check out, or a large assortment of baking equipment, or VR headsets. But libraries and the System as a whole have been bucking traditions to house more than just books in their buildings. Take a look at some of the things you can check out at your library by visiting the CEFLS Website. Place a request, just like a book and pick it up at Belden Noble!
