Free Batik Workshop July 21, 1:00 pm

Join us at the library to learn more about,  and to create a batik painting. From 1:00 to 3:00 pm on Friday, July 21, Jessie Furnia will help us explore this beautiful and historic art form. Please let us know you are planning to attend by Wednesday, July 19 so we can accommodate and provide materials for you.  Call the library at (518) 963-8079 or email us at beldennoblelibrary@gmail.com.

What is a batik painting? Batik art is a textile technique that uses wax and dye to create stunning patterns on a piece of fabric, such as cotton, silk, linen, or rayon. All materials will be provided. We are pleased to offer this FREE and fun workshop courtesy of the CEF Library System, Plattsburgh.  The project is made possible by a 2023 CAP grant to CEFLS by the Essex Arts Council
