Family Game Days: Saturdays in January and February noon to 4:00pm

Hey! Remember those long winter Saturday afternoons when there was nothing to do but play board games with the neighbor kids? Get back into that competitive spirit at our Bored Game” afternoons. We’re refereeing games for all ages here at the library on each remaining Saturday in January and February from 12:00 to 4:00. And yes, all games have instruction sheets: no making up the rules as you go along!

Cider and Cookies on December 3rd

We invite you to visit us in the library between 9:00 am and 3:00pm during Holidays in Essex on December 3rd. We will be serving cider and cookies all day for those who visit.

This will be your last day to place a bid on our auction items. The auction will close at 3:00 pm that day.

Hope to see you at the library!

POSTPONED DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER

Drop in on to make a holiday craft that can be
used as a decoration, given as a present, or kept for yourself.
This activity is suitable for adults and children over 12. We will have lots of holiday books to keep younger children busy while you’re crafting, and treats for everyone.

Story Time Kits Available

Thanks to a generous grant from the Adirondack Foundation’s Generous Acts Grant, the library now has 11 themed story time kits available for borrowing.

Each kit is designed around a theme such as Letters, Numbers, Vehicles, Colors, etc. Each kit has 4 or 5 books, a sheet of fingerplay activities, an educational toy, and a flannelboard or magnetic board story.

The kits may be checked out by visiting the library.

Picnic and Stories at Beggs Park Saturday, August 13 at 11:30 am REGISTER BEFORE AUG 11.

Bring your picnic blanket and basket full of lunch and join us for this family event with stories and songs about Adirondack animals. The library will provide lemonade and dessert. Please call the library at 518-963-8097 to register for this program. Registration is required before August 11.

Library of Things -Available to Borrow

You might not expect to walk into your local library to find that they have a camera you can check out, or a large assortment of baking equipment, or VR headsets. But libraries and the System as a whole have been bucking traditions to house more than just books in their buildings. Take a look at some of the things you can check out at your library by visiting the CEFLS Website. Place a request, just like a book and pick it up at Belden Noble!
